Beginning of April was the calm before the storm. We did as much as we could in order to prepare for our upcoming move. Packing, boxes, cleaning, more packing, and more cleaning. My wonderful mother came down from Washington to help us clean and pack. I am SO grateful she was able to come and do that for us. We wouldn't have been able to do it without her... well, at least we would have been extremely buried without her. As Tayler worked full time the week of the move, Mom and I spent 2 whole days scrubbing down the entire apartment. It was spotless if I do say so myself! I was determined to make sure we'd get our deposit back for cleaning so well. No news on that yet...

We love our new place! It's lots better, and bigger! The only down side to moving in was that the previous residents did not clean anything, at all. Ew. Kind of a bummer when you spend hours upon hours deep cleaning your last place for the next renters.

My Mom brought some awesome furniture along with her too! So now that we have a bigger living area, we can seat more guests! :) Gives us an excuse to actually have more friends and family over. Thanks Mom!

Mom and my creations:) We had fun! |
We plan on starting a garden once the weather starts getting warmer. It's slowly getting there. I'm excited to test out some potential gardening skills. Ha! I'm crossing my fingers I don't kill anything.
Check out our new place!

ReplyDeleteFun! Saw your link on Facebook and thought I would check out what you guys are up to. David and I lived there for a couple years before we graduated and loved Hyde Park...mostly for the washer and dryer and the covered parking in the winter! We recommended those apartments to Abby and her soon to be husband but they won't know if there are any openings until it gets closer to July/August when people are moving out. Do you guys rent through Rent Master? Or who owns yours? There were a bunch of different owners when we were there so I told them to check with different ones for availability. Maybe you guys will be in the same ward...although Hyde Park is broken up into 2-3 wards probably still. You guys are cute and I'm glad you like it there at my old stomping grounds! We lived in #2001!
ReplyDeleteHi Lorry! I didn't know you guys lived here! How fun! We love it here too. The washer/dryer and covered parking was definitely the biggest thing that caught our eye. We live in #500! I'm glad to know you recommended this place! It would be fun to have Abby and Trevor live here. Our owner manages just our building. He's a religion teacher on campus. So there's still a ton of different owners for different buildings. I know they are still trying to find openings(even now). There's quite a few posted on craigslist. Originally we got put on a waiting list when we called a number posted for here. They could try that route too. I have that owner's email and number if they want it. Not sure if anyone from our building will be moving out anytime soon, but if so I'll let you guys know!
